A. This means the COM port settings are not configured correctly

B. Check the COM port driver is installed correctly. Consult the documentation from the manufacturer of the RS485 adaptor for more details.
C. This usually happens when a previously used COM port is no longer available, perhaps a USB-to-Serial adaptor has been unplugged.
